Shape of Mercy

I really did enjoy the book, until I got to the end. It was so abrupt and I felt like I had missed something. While its well written, and defiantly a page turner, you turn and turn but do not get what you are looking for. I think it would have been a better story if there was more to Mercy's story. While it was not an awful book, I was disappointed. There was just a lack of connection when it came to the end of the book. Like I mentioned before, like something was missing. All the elements of a wonderful story are there, but its almost like they were not strung together. I would recommend this book if you like history, but if you are looking for an enjoyable read that you can't stop thinking about after you have read it... move on.

The Final Summit

IT was a great read! I read it very quickly and had a hard time putting it down!

The layout of the book was very engaging and easy to read. David Ponder is visited by Gabriel and introduced to many people throughout history. Within their stories are little bits of wisdom to hold on to for your own personal journey.

Wonderful read!!

JOLT!

The layout of the book is quite nice. Like your having your very own conversation over lunch! While things around us are constantly changing it can be very overwhelming to just "go with the flow" when you have no idea what YOU really want! "Establish a new direction, maximize potential, overcome insecurity, and create an amazing future and legacy"… I would like to think so. This book does provide that needed "jolt". I would recommend this book.

A Conversation with God

This book was a wonderful read. I felt like the author did an incredible job of addressing many of the questions that I ask my self repeatedly! Especially the WHY ME?? She does a great job of also using examples from the bible, instead of just her own options... which is always a plus for me.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who needs "coffee time" with God. It would be a great tool for devotions, both personal and group.

Couples Who Pray... Dont read this book!

Let me start by saying that I believe that it is very important for couples to pray together and that it does make a tremendous difference in not only your marriage, but also in dating and friendship relationships.

This book is not the book that you will want to read, unless you want statistics and celebrity stories. Now i will say that it is nice to know that us "normies" aren't the only ones who struggle with putting God at the front of our lives, but you wouldn't know that reading this book. I was very disappointed and did not like that there wasn't a 40-day challenge plan (just a pray for 40 days!) and that there were next to no scriptural references!

save yourself the time and money and just pray with your spouse without this book!

here is the official Product Description:

Product Description

In this entertaining, highly readable book, couples learn that a fabulous marriage can be the outcome of learning to pray together, a minimum of five minutes a day, causing a 20 to 30% increase in romance, conversation and happiness.

Best-selling author SQuire Rushnell and his wife, entertainer and talk show host, Louise DuArt take readers step by step through The 40 Day Prayer Challenge™ in which couples commit to praying together five minutes a day for forty days. Backed by compelling research from Baylor University and Gallup Poll, the true-life experiences of 24 test couples reveal that daily prayer is a "life changing experience" in which most couples report positive outcomes in less than two weeks.

Celebrity couples share extraordinary experiences on how the most intimate act between a man and a woman has improved their marriages. The couples include Denzel and Pauletta Washington, Kathie Lee and Frank Gifford, Donna Summer and Bruce Sudano, Scott and Tracie Hamilton, Christina Ferrara and Tony Thomopolous, and Gavin and Patty MacLeod.

Couples Who Pray includes an easy questionnaire prepared by Baylor University to help couples to chart their own progress during The 40 Day Prayer Challenge™. According to never-before-published research the "quantity and quality of lovemaking" gets better by 20% when couples pray more. There's also a significant reduction in disagreements evidenced by a 21% elevation among respondents who say that they are trying to make their marriages better. Astonishingly, the fear of divorce plummets to zero when couples pray "a lot."

Deadly Ties

I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN! A very suspenseful and action packed novel that held on to me long after I finished the book. Lisa will capture you from the beginning, you begin to relate with her immediately. While she goes through a very dramatic roller-coaster of emotions, you are right there with her, and the love story that emerges is one that challenges not only Lisa in the book but will challenge you.
I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review

this is your brain in love

while I wasnt quite sure what to expect reading this book, I was very pleasantly surprised. This is Your Brain in Love was a compelling read that brought many challenged and thoughts that I will carry on in my own relationship with my husband. It is a very easy and short read, although deep and factual. I had to answer many questions (some that were in the book and some that my mind kept shooting out at me) and it was a very unexpected experience. I would recommend this book for anyone, whether you are married or in a relationship, or ever want to get married. Its one of those books that will sit on your shelf that you will read and re-read over the years to help "refresh" your brain!

SAVE THE DATE!

LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! Was not expecting to fall in love and read this book in a day!

Lucy is the girl you want to be, the one that you wish you have the same heart as... but with out all the pain she had to go through to get there. I found myself wanting this book to never end. The banter back and forth, the writing.. AHH! I am speechless! Which is a pretty difficult thing for me.

A love story with the reality of love and all its truths, a much needed escape from your busy life, and a lovely reminder of what God has for you... a wonderful journey, yes with some bumps along the way, but hey, if there weren't bumps, how would we learn to trust God to love and care for us unconditionally?

Please... just order the book and enjoy a story that you can relate to and take something from!!

GREAT CHRISTMAS READ!

Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball had me at the first couple pages! I love Christmas and a great REALISTIC romance. Now there is some very "questionable realistic" circumstances, however it reminds you of that little place inside where you WANT to believe that this COULD be a reality! I read the book in one sitting, so I would definitely consider this one a page turner! Grab a cup of hot cocoa, tea, or coffee a comfy blanket, pray for snow and cuddle up and read this book, you WONT regret it!

Love, Charleston

I adored this book! I couldn't put it down! The book has a wonderful way of drawing you in and making you feel like you were there. I cried, laughed out loud, and even took some very important lessons home from the book. This will stay on the bookshelf for years to come and women's bible study/book clubs are a must with this book!!
